Live Music on the Square

Every summer, locals and visitors alike gather for this popular Saturday night concert series in the heart of historic downtown McDonough. Bring a comfy lawn chair or blanket and your dancing shoes, as you groove to the sounds of lively music. Different bands weekly!

Scarecrows Galore!

October brings a fun-filled fall tradition with scarecrow competition. Locals create festive and sometimes spooky scarecrows to adorn the Square. Vote for your favorite creation, with the winners announced at the annual Fall Festival.

Annual Christmas Parade, the Downtown Tree Lighting, and photo opps with Santa. Saturdays in December. Stroll through beautifully decorated streets, shop local, and enjoy the festive spirit of Christmas in a small town!

Geranium Drop

On New Year’s Eve, the city of McDonough traditionally celebrates its “Geranium City” roots by lowering a giant illuminated geranium ball on the Square as locals and visitors cheer in the New Year. The event is free. Everyone is welcome.
