Kamal Raj Sapkota | Masala Cottage

Originally from Nepal, Chef Kamal Raj Sapkota has been at the helm of the kitchen at Masala Cottage since it opened in 2018, bringing over 20 years of experience in North Indian cuisine. Inspired by renowned Indian chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Sapkota blends traditional North Indian cooking methods with a modern presentation. He remains dedicated to authenticity while add-ing a creative twist to classic dishes. His mastery of tandoor cooking and curry-based recipes is evident in the restaurant’s menu, where he uses only fresh ingredients in every dish.

Masala Cottage’s signature dish is Chef Sapkota’s Butter Chicken, made with tender, tandoor-cooked chicken in a rich, creamy curry that perfectly balances traditional spices. Other favorites include Dal Makhani (black lentils slow-cooked overnight), Rogan Josh (aromatic lamb curry), and Palak Paneer (spinach with housemade cheese).
